Sunrise - A Poem

Three sisters

Three flowers

Three paint drips on the wall.

Are we happy children?

Who wants to come and see?

Sunrise burns

Wide open

The shadows creep behind.

Pretending they are real

we reach up toward the light

and drink the water ‘til it drowns us.

Who’s invited in today

when hope is fear unfrozen?

Who’s invited in today

to see if we’re still there?
